Observer
NameJane P
Experience Level3/5
RemarksSighting when sky not completely dark yet, surprisingly bright, looked like (could be) a nearby (within 0.5 km) firework. No lights/streetlights in direction of viewing.Direction is guestimated between S to SE. Magnitude was hard to guess since it was not fully dark. It was a short, bright trail relatively near the horizon/bushy tree line from upper left to lower right (probably 45 deg angle or slightly steeper. Much brighter yet shorter trail than usual meteor showers, similar or even brighter than two meteorite falls I have observed under dark desert conditions (but this started much lower). time +/- about 5 minutes.
